At the SPCA of Brazoria County, we believe every family deserves the chance to stay together—especially when that family includes four-legged members. That’s why we created the POSH Program (Pets and Owners Support Hub)—a lifeline for local pet owners facing tough times.

Whether it’s a temporary financial struggle, the loss of a job, an unexpected medical bill, or housing insecurity, too many families are forced to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender their beloved pets simply because they can’t afford basic care.

POSH is here to change that.

Through this program, we’ve been able to prevent hundreds of animals from entering the shelter system by providing the support families need to keep their pets at home. That support might look like:

• A bag of dog or cat food to get through the month
• Assistance with veterinary care or medications
• Help covering pet deposits when moving into a new home
• Temporary supplies like crates, litter, or flea prevention
• Access to low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines

Every time we help, we prevent the stress of shelter life for a pet and spare a family the pain of saying goodbye. It’s more than just animal welfare—it’s community care.

But we can’t keep doing this without you.

The demand for the POSH Program is growing, and so are the costs. Pet deposits, veterinary expenses, and food costs continue to rise. Right now, we’re especially in need of:

• Dry cat and dog food (any brand, any size)
• Financial donations to cover medical costs and emergency needs
• Support for pet deposits that allow animals to move with their families

Your support doesn’t just help pets—it helps people. It keeps seniors and their comfort companions together. It helps children keep their best friend during tough transitions. It helps veterans, single parents, and anyone doing their best to care for the animals they love.

Together, we can keep more pets out of the shelter and in the loving arms of their families—right where they belong.
