At the SPCA of Brazoria County, we proudly operate as a no-kill shelter—a promise to never euthanize animals to make space, and to give every healthy and treatable pet the time, care, and opportunity they deserve to find a loving home.
But we need you to know something: no-kill doesn’t mean no need.
Our shelter was built to comfortably house 135 dogs. Right now, we’re caring for 266. That’s nearly double our capacity. Every hallway, office, and corner has been transformed into temporary housing because we refuse to give up on them—but we are stretched thin.
Being no-kill means we’re committed to lifesaving, not warehousing. And we cannot do that without you.
🐶 What Can You Do?
🌟 Foster – Open your home temporarily and give a pet a break from the shelter. Whether it’s a few days or a few weeks, you’ll change their life—and yours.
🌟 Adopt – Give a pet a forever home. Adopting even one animal creates room for us to save another.
🌟 Volunteer – We need hands-on help every day. From walking dogs to doing laundry, every task matters.
🌟 Donate – We are a nonprofit, and every dollar goes toward food, medical care, and shelter for the animals we serve.
💬 It Takes All of Us
Being no-kill is not just a shelter policy—it’s a community promise. It only works when everyone steps in to help. Without community support, we simply cannot continue to take in animals at the current rate and keep our no-kill pledge strong.
If you love animals and believe they deserve a second chance, now is the time to act. The lives we save tomorrow depend on the support we receive today.
